Regular consumption of fatty fish, 1 to 2 servings per week, is recommended by international health authorities to support general health. This recommendation corresponds to a daily average intake of 250-500 mg eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) + docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). However, not everyone likes to eat fish, and this also applies to athletes. Finally, the 6d OMEGA-3 also contains just enough vitamin E to prevent fish oil oxidation. Avoiding adding too much vitamin E is important because of the possible negative effects of (high intakes) of vitamin E on training adaptations.

In short, thanks to its extremely high dose of 500mg EPA and 250mg DHA per softgel, the 6d OMEGA-3 is the ideal supplement for athletes who do not eat (enough) fish on a regular basis. Also, athletes in need for a higher dose, for example during the rehabilitation of a muscle injury, can make use of the 6d OMEGA-3.
